Jones upbeat despite Sale defeat

Worcester fly-half Matt Jones insists there were plenty of positives to take from Saturday's defeat to Sale.

The 37-20 reverse at Sixways extended Warriors winless run in the Premiership to four games.

Jones told BBC Hereford & Worcester: "There are plenty of positives to come from this game and we've got to look at those and take confidence from them.

"There are obviously weaknesses that we have got to improve on, but we've got two weeks now to really work on those."

The result leaves Warriors lying 10th in the Premiership and Jones said it is vital that they return to form ahead of next Saturday's clash with Bath.

"There's no better game than to come up against Bath and try and turn them over and get the confidence back up again for the boys," said Jones.

At the moment my concern is to get my injury right and get back to playing well for Worcester

Jones is currently recovering from a foot injury and said that as well as working hard to regain his place in the Worcester side, he is also targeting further international recognition with Wales.

"At the moment my concern is to get my injury right and get back to playing well for Worcester," said Jones

"When those things happen, the rest of it will take care of itself.

"I'm just concentrating on the big one, which for me at the moment is Worcester," he added.
