Ruddock wants his players refreshed for the trip to the Falcons

Worcester Warriors director of rugby Mike Ruddock says the club must make sure players get a decent break before the game at Newcastle on Saturday.

The players have Christmas Day off and Ruddock says they will look carefully at the build-up for the match.

"We have to make sure we give the boys enough time away, so they are mentally fresh coming in to the game," he said.

"We have to make sure we are enthusiastic about the game, as it is a massive one once again."

Worcester will travel to the North East on Boxing Day, and Ruddock says that the time commitment for players is all part of the modern game.

"We are professionals; we know that when the games are fixed up we have to play," he said.

"Newcastle rested a few players on Saturday and this is something they see as another cup final so we need to be pretty fresh."
