Worcester Warriors' Head Coach Clive Griffiths has praised skipper Pat Sanderson's role in the 31-16 European Challenge Cup win over Newcastle.

Griffiths told BBC Hereford and Worcester that, despite his injuries, Sanderson had led from the front.

"He takes the shots in the game because he's such a scavenger," he said.

"He copped one in the mouth last week but got stitched up, while he was also laid low with a dead leg, but what a fantastic performance," he added.
