Lutui pens new Worcester contract
Aleki Lutui
Aleki Lutui has agreed to stay at Sixways at least until 2010
Worcester Warriors hooker Aleki Lutui has committed his future to the club by signing a new two-year deal.

The Tongan international, who is a former police officer, will now pound his beat at Sixways until 2010, with the option of an extra year.

The 29-year-old says the decision to remain at Warriors for the next two years was a simple one to make.

"It was easy for me, I enjoy my rugby here at Warriors and would not want to play for another club."

Luti added: "The last 18 months have been fantastic with many happy memories for me. And I believe we are building towards a very successful future."

Director of Rugby Mike Ruddock told BBC Hereford & Worcester that the deal means another part of his team building plans has been sorted.

"He is a tough-tackling, all-action hooker who plays with a huge amount of aggression.

"However, off the field he is one of the nicest guys you could ever wish to meet.

"Aleki has built up a very strong reputation for himself in the Guinness Premiership and on the back on his excellent performances in the Rugby World Cup it continues to grow."

Lutui is the second Warriors player to commit himself to the club this week following on from second row Craig Gillies.
