Drew Hickey is leaving Sixways after five years in the Midlands |
Worcester Warriors fly-half Shane Drahm and back row Drew Hickey will join Japanese side Kubota Spears at the end of the Premiership season. Director of rugby Mike Ruddock praised both players: "Shane and Drew have been great servants to Warriors.
"After discussions, they've decided to do what they feel is right for them at this time in their careers."
Drahm joined Warriors in the summer of 2005 from Northampton Saints and Hickey moved to Sixways from Orrell in 2003.
Drahm has been rumoured to be leaving Worcester for some time after being dropped from the team following a poor display against Harlequins.
Drahm has been out of favour of late at Worcester |
Hickey has also come under pressure for a regular first-team place since the arrival of Netani Talei, and the form of young players Tom Wood and James Collins.
Ruddock plans to bring new men into the squad to replace the Australian duo.
"We wish them every success in Japan, whilst we will now explore other options for the back row and fly-half positions next season."
