Australian fly-half Shane Drahm has agreed to leave Northampton and join Worcester at the end of the season. Drahm's departure is a sizeable blow for the Saints and coach Budge Pountney admitted he would be hard to replace.
"It's difficult to recruit players when you're in the position we're in, but that's part of the job," said Pountney.
"We have a good core of players but unfortunately have a few retirements and people leaving. That means we have to strengthen in certain areas."
Drahm has joined Worcester on a two-year deal and director of rugby John Brain said signing Drahm would help the club in its bid to become one of the powerhouses of English rugby.
"We are delighted with the acquisition of Shane in our attempts to move the club in the right direction," said bran.
"We have ambitions for this club and Shane shares in those big ambitions"
