Tommy Bowe adds the Magners Rugby Writers prize to his tally |
Ireland star Tommy Bowe was the runaway winner of the Magners Rugby Writers' Award at a dinner in the Merchant Hotel in Belfast on Wednesday night. It was the Ulster winger's third accolade in as many weeks and comes as he prepares to move to the Ospreys. THe 24-year-old also lifted Ulster Rugby's top prize as well as the Irish Rugby Players' Association Player of the Year award. Special awards were also presented to Simon Best and David Humphreys. Former Ireland prop Best had to retire prematurely from the game following a health scare, while Humphreys hung up his boots on 9 May after a wonderful career in which he won 163 Ulster caps.
