Mercey has been with Saracens for five years

Saracens prop Tom Mercey has been ruled out for the rest of the season after tearing his pectoral muscle.

The 23-year-old suffered the injury during Sarries' 31-20 LV= Cup defeat by Northampton Saints on Saturday.

Mercey, an England Saxons regular, has recently signed a deal with Northampton to join them next season.

But wing Chris Wyles should be fit to face Newcastle on Saturday, after scans revealed he suffered only a minor ankle sprain in the defeat by Saints.
