Leeds Carnegie second row forward Kearnan Myall will join Premiership rivals Sale Sharks on a two-year contract in the summer.

The 24-year-old, who is 6ft 7in, made his Leeds debut in 2005-06 against Sale and has played for England Saxons.

He becomes new executive director of sport Steve Diamond's third signing.

Sharks head coach Pete Anglesea said: "There are going to be a number of signings in the near future that we will be announcing."

He continued: "We are looking at players from all over the world. We want the best players from around the world who will want to play for Sale Sharks.

Kearnan is a versatile player who can fit into the back-row as well as at lock and he will fit in well with what we are building at Sale Sharks

"And what we are not doing is selling the past - we are selling the future. We are not selling it as in 'This is what is going on now.' We are pitching it as being all about where the club is going.

"So in terms of speaking to potential new players it's all about the future... not the past."

Diamond said: "He is an established player with both Leeds Carnegie and England Saxons and will add a lot to the squad. He is excellent in the line-out, which has been a major plus to Leeds this season and has a great work ethic.

"Kearnan is a versatile player who can fit into the back-row as well as at lock and he will fit in well with what we are building at Sale Sharks."

Myall follows fellow forwards Tony Buckley and Joe Ward to Edgeley Park.
