McMillan had been on trial for a month at Edgeley Park

Sale Sharks have announced the signing of Irish flanker Neil McMillan after a successful trial spell.

The 29-year-old has previously played for Leicester, Ulster and Harlequins and represented Ireland at schools, sevens and 'A' international levels.

McMillan has been on trial since the start of the season and has played in every game so far for the Sharks reserves side Sale Jets.

The Irishman could make his debut against London Wasps this Friday.
