Thomas joined Sale from Cardiff Blues in 2006

Sale centre Lee Thomas is expected to be out for three months after suffering a shoulder injury in the Heineken Cup win over Clermont Auvergne on Saturday.

The 24-year-old suffered a "severe and complex dislocation of the shoulder" in the 13th minute of the Pool One match.

He will undergo surgery at Cheadle's Alexandra Hospital on 15 October.

Meanwhile, scrum-half Dwayne Peel is expected to have recovered from a stinger injury to his neck and arm in time for Saturday's game with Munster.
