Thomas signs new Sharks contract
Lee Thomas
Thomas has captained Wales at every age group up to under-21
Sale back Lee Thomas has signed a new two-year contract with the club.

The 23-year-old Welshman, who can play at centre or fly-half, joined Sale last summer from the Cardiff Blues.

He suffered a broken arm in the loss to Newcastle on Boxing Day but fought back to full fitness and is now a regular in the Sale first team.

"I am really enjoying my rugby at Sale, we have a great squad here at the club and competition for places is intense," he said.

"I want to do my best for the team and hopefully help us to win some silverware."

Director of rugby Philippe Saint-Andre was delighted that Thomas, who has captained Wales at every age group through to under-21, has decided to stay at Edgeley Park.

"Lee is a great young player and is important to my squad," said Saint-Andre. "He can play centre and number 10 and is a good kicker too.

"He had offers to return to play in Wales but wants to stay with us."

Thomas is the latest Sale player to commit his future to the club following Sebastien Chabal's decision to sign a new deal earlier this week.
