Ospreys coach Sean Holley says he is looking forward to Scott Johnson's reign as director of coaching.
Former Wales skills coach Scott Johnson arrived in Wales on Thursday and is to appear at a news conference on Friday.
Holley, who wanted the top job himself, will continue in his role as head coach, with Jonathan Humphreys remaining as his assistant.
"I'm looking forward to bouncing some ideas off with Scott and to working with him," Holley told BBC Wales.
"It's a new fresh voice with fresh ideas and everybody is looking forward to his arrival.
"He is a hands-on coach, and a very, very good coach so I expect him to have quite a significant role throughout the team."
The Ospreys had a long search for a new man to replace former head coach Lyn Jones - who departed in May 2008 - with several previous targets turning down the Liberty Stadium side.
But Ospreys director of rugby Andrew Hore continued the search for a high-profile senior coach he believed the region needed.
Johnson has given up his role as coach of USA to return to south Wales.
The Australian was skills coach with Wales under Steve Hansen and Mike Ruddock, before leading Wales in three internationals in a caretaker role after Ruddock's shock departure in 2006.
He left to become Australia attack coach, but departed after their poor World Cup showing in 2007.
Johnson remains close friends with Cardiff Blues director of rugby Dai Young, leading to speculation last year that the Australian could take up a coaching role at the Arms Park.
Instead he opted to move to North America to take the Eagles head job last year.
But Holley insists he is not bitter about missing out to Johnson for the senior Ospreys coaching role.
"I've learnt a lot in this last season," said Holley. "I think I've been given an opportunity to have a bit more responsibility.
"But I've been here from the start of Ospreys rugby and my dedication and commitment is purely to improve the team and having the best team in Wales here again in my home region.
"Whatever capacity that takes, I'm pleased to fulfil that."
The Ospreys tumbles out of the Heineken Cup last weekend with a hurtful 43-9 loss in the quarter-finals at Munster.
The followed a 19-0 reverse to Gloucester in the semi-finals of the EDF Energy Cup, leaving the Ospreys with just the Magners League to go for this season.
