Henson is happy to be back playing again |
Gavin Henson says he needs games to get back to full fitness after ending his eight months on the sidelines in the Ospreys 37-23 win over Glasgow. A knee injury kept him out for most of last season with Achilles and groin injuries causing further set-backs.
But the 25-year-old said: "It's great to be back playing rugby again and playing it with a smile on my face.
"I found it quite tough out there match fitness-wise but hopefully now game time will bring that on."
Fly-half Henson feels he will be able to get back to his best form highlighted during the 2005 Grand Slam and push for a return to the Wales squad.
"I've just got to try and perform and get in the squad with the next coach," he said.
"It's important the WRU makes the right decision on the next coach because the youngsters coming through today are unbelievable. Everthing is better than I've seen.
"The WRU really have to make the right decision for the long-term because if they do it right, we could do something special in the next World Cup."
