Ansbro energised by Saints return Northampton Saints' Joe Ansbro says he was ready for international rugby with Scotland after his club experiences. The 25-year-old centre made his debut in the win over South Africa and played in the victory against Samoa. Ansbro told BBC Look East: "Just being called into the squad was a surprise, but I was well prepped, playing in the Premiership and Heineken Cup. "I hope I'm a better player. It's a confidence boost and nice to see what it's like playing against the best." Ansbro returns to club rugby in the Premiership with Saints on Sunday, away to Leeds Carnegie. "Saints have done really well," he added. "I'm not surprised at Jamie Elliott's success and there are even more lads looking to get involved. "Jon Clarke and James Downey have been going well in the centre. There's so much strength in depth and I have to perform or I'll lose my spot."
