Northampton kept alive their chances of reaching the knock-out stages of the Heineken Cup by grinding out a forgettable win against Overmach Parma.
The Saints clinched a try-scoring bonus point four minutes into the second half when wing Chris Wyles went over.
They had already scored through Robbie Kydd, a penalty try and Paul Diggin.
They added further tries through Soane Tonga'uiha and Sean Lamont but it was hardly the avalanche of points expected after their 68-21 win in Italy.
Biarritz, in action against Borders on Sunday, will surely top Pool Six, but the Saints look almost certain to reach the quarter-finals as one of the two best runners-up.
They have now banked a healthy 15 points and have scored 22 tries in their first four games.
606 DEBATE: How far will Northampton go in the Heineken Cup?
Northampton boss Paul Grayson:
"It was all about getting the five points. "But the game as a spectacle was a non-event and at least we didn't pick up any more injuries.
"After scoring 10 tries against them away from home it's difficult to follow up, although we did manage to score six tries."
