Northampton ran in 10 tries as they picked up a maximum five-point win against Parma.
Saints full-back Paul Diggin and Scotland wing Sean Lamont both went over twice before the Italians fought back late on.
Carlos Spencer got Saints' opening try after five minutes and also added seven conversions.
But the victory was spoiled by a knee injury to fly-half Stephen Myler, who is expected to be out for 4-10 weeks.
Northampton coach Paul Grayson
"I was pleased to get the points and the win as it sets us up for next week, but I was disappointed to lose another player. "We kept our shape well, Parma were tired after a tough league game on Tuesday while we were pretty relaxed and played with a lot of patience.
"Our journey to get here was pretty easy and it meant the players were in a great frame of mind."
