Tom Cheeseman has spent six seasons at The Rec with Bath |
Newport Gwent Dragons have signed centre Tom Cheeseman from Bath on a loan deal until the end of the season. Swansea-born Cheeseman, 24, returns to Wales after six seasons with the Aviva Premiership club. Cheeseman, son of ex-Swansea flanker Trevor has made 83 Bath appearances since joining from Swansea in 2004. "I have to admit it's a bit nerve-wracking to be coming into such a big weekend with the game away game at the [Cardiff] Blues," said Cheeseman. "It's hard work learning all the moves in a short time but I've already done a training session and the players are really easy-going. "The coaches have been very helpful and I'm really looking forward to pulling on a Dragons jersey." The Dragons have injury and illness problems that keep midfield men Ashley Smith, Tom Cooper and Matthew Watkins out of contention. Cheeseman added: "I'm really happy to be coming back to Wales. I played here for many years before moving to Bath and it's great that the Dragons are giving me the opportunity to come back."
