Kevin Morgan back in action after seven months out |
Kevin Morgan returns from seven months out injured aiming to help Newport Gwent Dragons seal an automatic Heineken Cup spot for next season. The full-back is on the bench for the clash with Ulster at Newport on Sunday. It is set to be his first competitive appearance this season after injuring his Achilles tendon last summer. "It's going to be an exciting end to the season. [Heineken Cup qualification] is a big goal for us," said the 44-times capped player. He added: "We've got eight games left and we've got to win as many as possible." | MY SPORT: DEBATE |
But although Morgan, who had 30 minutes for the Dragons in a development game against the Ospreys on Monday, had a serious injury he was always confident of making it back this season. "I'm just looking forward to getting back and playing a bit of rugby, really. It's been a long time but I've finally got there. "I've always been quite optimistic [about the injury]. I have got back from serious injuries before. "I didn't have any fears in my own ability to get back. It's just the length of time with the Achilles. You can't put a definite time on when you can get back."
