Colin Charvis and the other Dragons will be able to tour with Wales

That means the Dragons players will be available to join up with Wales ahead of the first Test in Australia on 26 May at Sydney's Telstra Stadium.

Back-rows Colin Charvis and Michael Owen, prop Jamie Corsi, plus scrum-half Gareth Cooper and loaned Ospreys back Aled Brew are in the squad.

Dragons prop Rhys Thomas has already been ruled out of the tour with injury.

Corsi, who has already represented Wales at Under-16, U18, U19 and U20 level, was called up on Tuesday to replace regional colleague Thomas.

The Dragons played a similar European play-off last season against the Italian side that finished third in their Super 10 championship.

The Welsh region lost 15-24 at home to Overmach Parma to drop into the second tier Challenge Cup, but did make the semi-finals of the competition before losing to Clermont Auvergne.

The Welsh region will face different Italian opponents this term, with Carrera Petrarca, Benetton Treviso, Cammi Calvisano and Arix Viadana involved in the Italian league's top four play-off.

Petrarca will take a slim 20-18 lead to Treviso after the weekend's first leg of the semi-finals, while Calvisano hold a 19-10 advantage as they travel to Viadana this Saturday.

Wales face the Wallabies in the second Test on 2 June at the Suncorp Stadium.
