Gray will captain the second of four England U18s games in Argentina

Newcastle Falcon Alex Gray has been named captain for the England Under-18s side as they face Buenos Aires at Casi Club Athletic San Isidro on Wednesday.

Gray is joined in the starting XV by Falcons team mates Will Welch, Tom Catterick and Rory Clegg.

"I am honoured to be tour captain for the Under 18s," the number eight told the club website.

"I am looking forward to getting stuck into my first match and leading the team on the pitch for the first time."

Alex is an outstanding prospect with excellent credentials.

Gray is one of 13 changes to the starting line-up that defeated Tucuman Under 18s 40-24 on Saturday.

Falcons director of rugby, Steve Bates, added: "Alex is an outstanding prospect with excellent credentials, and being asked to captain his country a year young is a huge honour for both him and the club."
