Munster asked to supply paperwork on Wian Du Preez deal

Wian Du Preez joined Munster on a short-term contract

Munster have revealed that they have been asked to supply the paperwork on the registration of Wian Du Preez to the Heineken Cup organisers.

It comes at the same time the Ospreys are being investigated over the short-term signing of Ricky Januarie.

Players have to be signed for at least three months to play in the cup but scrum-half Januarie returned to South Africa after just over two months.

Munster said they were confident they had no case to answer over Du Preez.

The Irish province brought in Springbok loose-head prop Du Preez because Marcus Horan was ill.

He played in four Heineken Cup pool matches and two Magners League games during December and January and then returned to South Africa to play for the Cheetahs.
