Wian du Preez will provide much-need cover for the Irish side

Munster have signed Cheetahs loose head prop Wian du Preez on a three-month contract in response to losing three front row players through injury.

Marcus Horan and Dave Ryan are ruled out until after Christmas and Darragh Hurley has a shoulder injury.

The 27-year-old du Preez was called into the South Africa squad over the the weekend.

He will join Munster once his commitment to the Springboks' European tour is complete.

The move is subject to du Preez obtaining release from the South African Rugby Union, a valid work permit and passing a medical.
