Dominic Waldouck handed new Wasps contract

London Wasps centre Dominic Waldouck has signed a new three-year deal with the club and has been named one of two new vice-captains.

The 22-year-old will share the vice-captaincy role with hooker Rob Webber in support of regular first team skipper Tom Rees.

Wasps director of rugby Tony Hanks said: "We don't often give out three-year contracts.

"You have to be confident they are the right people on and off the field."

The deal caps a progressive summer for Waldouck after he was named in last month's 32-man senior England squad.

"We are delighted to retain the services of such a high-calibre player," added Hanks.

"Dom's contribution to the club goes way beyond the efforts seen on the pitch."

Academy winger Christian Wade has also signed a three-year contract.

The 19-year-old is set to spend one more year with the academy before stepping up to the first team for the 2011/2012 season.

He told the club website: "This has been a great place to develop and to have the chance to learn from some of the best players.

"I don't think you could find a better environment to train in."
