Varndell was one of two Wasps players to bag a brace of tries

Wasps ran in eight tries as they crushed Roma in the Challenge Cup.

Tom Varndell scored the first of his brace on eight minutes but Roma's Juan Gauthier replied immediately.

Academy prop Bob Baker added a second before Daniel Leo and Paul Sackey went over for Wasps when Roma full-back Paolo Buso was in the sin-bin.

Max Freschi's boot kept Roma in the game but tries by George Skivington and Dominic Waldouck, and second scores for Varndell and Leo, wrapped up the win.
