Wasps have bolstered their squad with the signing of Samoa international prop Sakaria Taulafo on an 18-month deal. The 26-year-old arrives at Adams Park from Air New Zealand NPC side Tasman Makos and will be part of the Wasps squad to face Newcastle on Sunday. Taulafo said: "I see Wasps as the Manchester United of European rugby, with a long history of success. "The set-up at Wasps is world class with some of the best rugby players in the world." He added: "I sat down and looked at where I wanted to be as a player in five years and decided that it was a realistic goal to become one of the best props in the world that can play both sides of the scrum. | He is a big powerful prop who is mobile around the field and he will be a great addition to the squad Wasps director of rugby Tony Hanks |
"I love winning and playing for Wasps will give me the chance to experience scrummaging against some of the best props in the world. "I have worked so hard to get here and now I am ready to work even harder to take my game to another level." Wasps director of rugby Tony Hanks said: "It is great to bring a player of Zak's quality in this season while we are experiencing some injuries in the front row, but even more so to be able to secure him for next season. "He is a big powerful prop who is mobile around the field and he will be a great addition to the squad."
