Perfect time for London Irish to end run - Chris Malone
Australian Malone has previously had spells with Bath and Harlequins
London Irish fly-half Chris Malone says Sunday's Heineken Cup clash with Ospreys is the perfect opportunity to end their 10-match losing run.
Irish are all but out of the Heineken Cup after losing three of their opening four Pool Three games.
Malone told BBC Berkshire: "Ultimately, we're desperate to win. The fact that we're probably out of the Heineken Cup doesn't come into it.
"What better way to turn around our run than against a top quality side?"
The 33-year-old former Bath and Harlequins man also said that he feels the Exiles are improving.
"I like the approach we've taken here," he added. "You try not to think about what's gone, you just try to concentrate on what you can do better, each individual moment of a game.
"If we cut out a couple of errors and cut out a couple of penalties, things all of a sudden are a lot different. These are the margins we're talking about.
"There's not much I can say to anyone else. All I can do is to come in and be upbeat, every time I come to training I'm smiling and I try to keep everyone else happy.
"And I think we are moving in the right direction. Our performances have improved. We're back at home on a good track, in front of our own supporters, and hopefully we'll beat the Ospreys."
