Toby Booth backs London Irish to bounce back

London Irish head coach Toby Booth is adamant that his side will soon get back to winning ways.

A last-minute penalty from Bath's Olly Barkley condemned Irish to their ninth straight defeat in all competitions.

Booth told BBC Berkshire: "Three tries to one showed a bit more of the London Irish we're used to - we had greater consistency in our game.

"The only thing we can do is work hard in the week, work hard on the pitch and try to earn the right to win the game."

Booth was pleased with his side's performance against Bath, saying that it was Irish's best performance of recent times.

"I thought you saw a very committed performance. In previous weeks we haven't played well, so it's swings and roundabouts," he added.

And the coach is sure that his side's work ethic will be rewarded when they travel to Saracens on Sunday.

"It affects us all, and the one thing you want is a team and a performance that represents you. It'll be the same formula," he said.

"We've just got to carry on and the only people who are going to help us out of this are ourselves."
