London Irish fly-half Chris Malone admits this season could be his last with the Exiles.

The 33-year-old, who is contracted to the club until the end of this season, would like to return to Australia to become a coach.

Malone told BBC Berkshire: "I'd like to coach in Australia, I want to go home and I feel like it's a good time to go into the next phase of my rugby career.

"I've got a big opportunity now to have a big season at London Irish."

Malone signed for the Exiles in July 2009 and played 24 times in his first season, notching up 90 points, including scoring the Exiles' only try in the epic 11-11 draw with Leinster at Twickenham in the Heineken Cup pool decider in January.

Although the Australian believes his rugby career is coming to an end, he is determined to finish his spell with London Irish on a high.

"At the moment my thinking is to have a good season and finish well," he said.

"I'm just going to concentrate on one game at a time because there's no easy games in this league, there's a difficult game every week.

"We're going strong at the moment and it's great we are winning games but we want to continue to evolve in order to be successful.

"We're in a good position but we're a long way off determining who is going to be in the top four and who is going to win at the end."
