Homer played for England Under-18's in this year's Six Nations
London Irish head coach Toby Booth described teenage winger Tom Homer's Premiership debut as "first class".
The 18-year-old scored twice against Saracens as Irish won 27-14 to go second in the table on Sunday.
Booth told BBC Berkshire: "It endorses the policy of playing if you're good enough, not what age you are.
"Both Delon Armitage and Sailosi Tagicakibau appeared in the changing room after the game - so they're a little bit twitchy!"
Booth said he was particularly pleased with the leadership displayed during the victory.
"I've had feedback from the players that people like Clarke Dermody and Faan Rautenbach are really speaking out and controlling what's going on.
"The more leadership you have out there, the better chance you have of making good decisions. It also adds different levels of composure."
Booth added the team would not be distracted by their lofty position in the table.
"Being second in November counts for absolutely nothing. It's my job to make sure we prepare well and maintain momentum.
"We have an ambitious set of players and coaches. If we're second in April, that's different altogether. The next step is Bristol and that'll be tough.
"We've lost twice here in 2008 which is something we're obviously proud of.
"You need good home form if you have any thoughts of being a competitor, so winning at home and maintaining that record and the momentum is really important."
