Bailey left Gloucester at the end of the 2007/8 season

James Bailey, the former Gloucester and England Under-21 winger, has joined London Irish with immediate effect.

The 25-year-old London-born winger made 62 Premiership appearances for the cherry-and-whites scoring 28 tries.

London Irish head coach Toby Booth said: "The demands on our backs are such that it is essential we have strength in depth in each position.

"James is a speedy and versatile winger who creates and uses space well and is an acknowledged try scorer."
