Gallacher denies Scarlets splits
Scarlets chief executive Stuart Gallacher
Gallacher has urged the fans to rally behind Llanelli Scarlets
Scarlets chief executive Stuart Gallacher says there is no crisis at Stradey Park and that they will be playing in their new stadium this year.

The Llanelli side have had a miserable season, making early, ignominious exits in the Heineken Cup and EDF Energy Cup.

Dwayne Peel will leave at the end of the season, with rumours rife that half back partner Stephen Jones will follow.

"There are no major issues between the players and coaches, we will move forward," Gallacher told the club site.

"I'm aware of the innuendo and rumours regarding [director of rugby] Phil Davies' relationship with his players - when results are poor it's easy to point the finger at the coaching staff.

Our first game at the new stadium will probably be 14 November

"There's no hiding the fact that this has been our worst Heineken Cup, but we were part of the highest quality group in the competition's 12-year history and were only able to field our strongest team in one game."

Gallacher pointed to the fact that a number of leading players had been re-signed recently along with some of the region's most talented youngsters, and sought to quell talk of an "exodus".

"In recent weeks we've lost one - albeit high-profile - player [Peel] and we may lose another, Stephen Jones. There's no exodus.

"I and the coaching staff recognise the need to strengthen in certain positions in the squad, and I've already stated that it's our intention to try to recruit quality international players from both the northern and southern hemispheres.

"Without question, the time and effort - not to mention the finance - that have been needed to finally secure the move to a new stadium and the future of the Llanelli Scarlets and the region have taken a toll.

"Now, with work progressing on the new stadium and the sale of Stradey Park complete, we can now move ahead with confidence and I'm now able to reveal that our first game at the new stadium will probably be 14 November this year.

"Our message to the fans is that the Llanelli Scarlets need their support at this exciting, vital and pivotal time in our history."
