Stradey Park stalwart Garan Evans has signed a new one-year deal at Llanelli Scarlets, scotching rumours that he was about to leave the west Wales club. The four-cap Wales full-back, 34, has been at Stradey for 14 years.
With Barry Davies having left the club, Evans will contest the number 15 shirt with Morgan Stoddart and Ceiron Thomas.
"He has a wealth of experience and his ability to cover wing and full-back will give us options at the back," said Scarlets Director of Rugby Phil Davies.
"I'm delighted Garan has signed on for another campaign."
Evans has made a total of 329 appearances for both Llanelli and the Scarlets, scoring 123 tries.
