The tight-head, 31, joins Connacht prop Brett Sturgess at the west country side, and follows scrum-half Clive Stuart-Smith there from the Scarlets.

"Our plan has been to build a squad with strength in depth in order to cope with injuries and a very long season," said Chiefs boss Peter Drewett.

"These signings continue our policy of attracting quality players with Premiership or equivalent experience."
