Recovery boost for flanker Jones
Dafydd Jones
Jones has missed much of the last two seasons with injuries
Wales and Llanelli Scarlets flanker Dafydd Jones says he should be back in action in six-to-eight weeks.

The blind-side, 27, was ruled out of Wales' summer tour with a shoulder injury, reconstructive surgery expected to keep him out until the new year.

But, having missed most of the last two seasons with injuries, the 29-cap man could challenge for the autumn Tests.

"The surgery went well and I am way ahead of schedule," Jones told the South Wales Evening Post.

"The sling is off and it is a case of building the shoulder back up and working hard to get the muscle mass back.

"I have been determined to stay positive. Pre-season has gone well at Stradey and everyone is enthusiastic about the new season.

"As far as a comeback is concerned I have got a date in mind, but what the specialist has told me is that it could be six-to-eight weeks before I am back playing again."

The Llanarth man suffered groin, hand and ankle trouble before his shoulder problems.
