Tigers aim for unbeaten January

Martin Corry
Corry says the onus is on senior players in the absence of their coach

Leicester Tigers captain Martin Corry says his side are hoping to start the new year in style with their goal being to go unbeaten in January.

Corry told BBC Radio Leicester: "It's a very tall ask but I think we can achieve it.

"The pressure is on us as we're fifth - it's all really tightly bunched both below us and above so any slip-ups leave us with a real uphill struggle."

The Tigers face leaders Bath in the Guinness Premiership on Sunday.

Corry said his side would continue working hard despite head coach Heyneke Meyer having to return home because of an illness in the family.

He said: "It's time now for senior players to really step up and make sure everything stays on the same course as it was under Heyneke.

"It's an opportunity now to put a lot of our wrongs right."
