Hamilton is reunited with former Crusaders team-mate Aaron Mauger |
New Zealand winger Scott Hamilton has said he is excited at the prospect of playing for Leicester Tigers in the Guinness Premiership. The 28-year-old signed for the club in October but only arrived in the country last week. Hamilton told BBC Radio Leicester: "I am really happy that I've come here to play rugby. "I wanted to come to a club that has a lot of success behind it and I hope that continues to be the case." Hamilton has joined the Tigers after playing for Crusaders in New Zealand, where he won three Super rugby titles as well as the Ranfurly Shield (twice) and the National Provincial Championship. He added: "All the boys have been good and the trainers have been awesome, like a lot of Kiwis I wanted to come overseas. "Leicester has a great name and having Heyneke [Meyer] coaching as well was an attraction, I haven't really met him in the past but I know his background."
