Leicester Tigers captain Martin Corry has said it is important his side get a good start in the Heineken Cup.

The 34-year-old said the Tigers need to get a win from their clash with the Ospreys at Welford Road on Sunday.

He told BBC Radio Leicester: "The Heineken Cup is the premier competition in the world and it's one we get really excited for.

"They [Ospreys] have some very good players but they are beatable if we execute our gameplan."

It will be an interesting encounter between the two teams who met in the EDF Energy Cup Final last year.

Neither of the clubs made the final four in last year's competition. Corry says the Tigers are well aware of the danger the Ospreys pose.

"Shane Williams is the best broken field runner in the world at the moment.

"We'll be up for it and the fans will be up for it, so hopefully it'll be a great occasion."

Tigers back row Tom Croft said: "They are a massive threat and it'll probably be our biggest game of the season.

"We need to make sure we cover all bases and get the best start possible."
