Playing Humphreys cost Leicester a point |
Leicester Tigers have been deducted one Premiership point by England Rugby Ltd for fielding an ineligible player. The Tigers played fly-half Ian Humphreys during games on 18 and 26 November even though he was temporarily registered as on-loan with Leeds.
Humphreys was ineligible to turn out for Leicester under Premiership rules and the club now have 14 days to appeal against the board's decision.
Tigers topped the table by three points from Gloucester before the deduction.
