Leeds Carnegie's Andy Key targets two big wins

Key's Leeds have four matches left this season

Leeds Carnegie director of rugby Andy Key thinks wins in their next two matches should secure their Premiership future for next season.

Leeds go to Harlequins on Saturday, then London Irish eight days later, before a home clash with relegation rivals Worcester.

"If we can win the next two games we put ourselves in a very strong position," Key told BBC Radio Leeds.

"But what will be, will be and the pressure is on all the clubs now."

Leeds sit second bottom of the Premiership, three points ahead of Worcester and three behind 10th placed Sale.

"It would be nice to have it wrapped up before the Worcester game, but we'll have to see what happens with that," explained Key.

"We have to take one game at a time and all our focus is on Harlequins at the moment.

"It's now about dealing with pressure. We had that last year ourselves when we had to win those final few games to get promoted after losing games to Doncaster and Bedford.

"We are in a similar position now because it would have been nice to get more points from the Gloucester and Northampton game.

"But now we go into two matches we firmly believe we can get points from and it's about dealing with that pressure.

"You draw on all aspects of experience to help you and the pressure of last season, while slightly different, is helping us.

"We know one win can change everything and we know if we can win at Harlequins it will be very important."

BBC Radio Leeds has full match commentary of Harlequins v Leeds Carnegie on DAB & online at bbc.co.uk/leeds on Saturday from 1300 BST.
