Leeds Carnegie have signed second row Jon Pendlebury and prop Pete Bucknall on two-year deals. Pendlebury, 25, has joined from Gloucester, while Bucknall, 25, was previously at Birmingham & Solihull. "I am really looking forward to coming to Leeds, I am excited about the opportunity," said Pendlebury. "As a Rotherham lad, it is a chance for me to come home to Yorkshire, I want to be playing regular rugby and promotion is what we all want to achieve." Pendlebury is the second lock to join Leeds following the capture of Phil Murphy from Worcester Warriors. The duo replace Stuart Hooper and Pablo Bouza, who left the club at the end of last season. Bucknall has made a name for himself in the lower leagues and will add to the club's front-row options for next season after the departure of Michael Cusack and Colin Noon. The former Northampton academy player previously played for Bracknell and Coventry before joining the Bees last season. | The line out is a big part of my game and I know Stuart Hooper was key in that area for Leeds over the last few years | The duo's arrival brings the West Yorkshire club's summer signings up to five for next season's National One campaign with Henry Paul and Scott Barrow bolstering the backline. Pendlebury added: "I have enjoyed my time at Gloucester but unfortunately this season I have not been involved as much as previous seasons. "I am looking forward to the fresh challenge at Leeds Carnegie. "The line out is a big part of my game and I know Stuart Hooper was key in that area for Leeds over the last few years. "Hopefully I can contribute, now he has gone, and I am looking forward to adapting to the new rules that are coming in for next season which will challenge all players."
