Harlequins have handed a two-year deal to England and Lions winger Ugo Monye. Having joined Quins as an 18-year-old academy player in 2002, Monye's new deal will enable him to complete 10 years' service for the club. Monye, who has won 11 England caps as well as two for the Lions, has played 118 times for Premiership side Quins, scoring 53 tries. Quins have also signed up England Under-20 centre Tom Casson on a two-and-a-half-year deal. Incoming director of rugby Conor O'Shea said: "Tom is a player we've rated for a number of years despite his tender years. We're looking forward to him fulfilling his potential alongside the host of talented English qualified backs we have at Harlequins. | The fans at The Stoop love him and I am sure they will be as pleased as I am Incoming director of rugby Conor O'Shea |
"And I'm delighted that Ugo has pledged his future to the club when he was offered both opportunity and increased financial rewards to move elsewhere. "Ugo was the first Harlequins academy player to be selected for the Lions and has reached a level of maturity which should see him play his very best rugby in the next few years. "The fans at The Stoop love him and I am sure they will be as pleased as I am that he will continue to deliver in a Quins shirt."
