Monye sat out the opening game |
Ugo Monye consolidated his standing as England's outstanding player at the Hong Kong Sevens by scoring heavily in victories over Taiwan and Tonga.
He picked up four tries in the 43-5 win over Taiwan and then grabbed two more tries in the 42-7 victory over Tonga..
"Ugo is certainly enjoying his rugby at the moment," said England coach Joe Lydon.
"I'm lucky where I can put him in the starting line-up and replace him with Richard Haughton. It's great to have two players like that in the team."
For Monye, who starred on his debut at the Brisbane Sevens by scoring two tries in the final against Fiji, Hong Kong is everything he had expected.
