Evans marked his comeback with 19 points on Sunday |
Harlequins' record signing Nick Evans has said he was relieved to get some rugby under his belt during Sunday's 32-10 win against Wasps. The New Zealand fly-half scored 19 points in only his second appearance after a 320,000 move in the summer. Evans told BBC London 94.9: "It was good to get out on the pitch, I've had 40 minutes in the last seven weeks. "It was a good team performance, but a little bit disappointing we didn't put them away." Evans injured his knee in the first match of the season against Saracens but put in a spectacular display on his return. The 28-year-old added: "We probably should have put 40 or 50 points on them, but it was a good start for myself to get back out there. "It is a big derby between the two sides and we wanted to start well. We were really clinical at the break down the forwards got into the game early and we created opportunities. "It wasn't a day for the flashy stuff we just had to do the basics right and we did that and got the result."
