Chambers lost his appeal to compete in the Beijing Olympics |
Harlequins have denied reports linking sprinter Dwain Chambers to the club. Reports have suggested that the former Great Britain athlete, who last week lost an appeal against his Olympic ban, would be working as a sprint coach. But the Premiership club insist they have not entered into any agreement with the 30-year-old Londoner. Harlequins chief executive Mark Evans said in a statement: "Dwain Chambers has not, and will not, be employed by the club in any capacity." He added: "The sprint coach, currently used by the Harlequins players, is the highly-rated and well known specialist, Tony Lester, coach to many past and present GB sprinters." Chambers tried his hand at rugby league earlier this year with a trial period at Castleford but was never offered a contract.
