Mike Tindall hoping for consistency from England

Tindall is one of seven players in the squad who won the World Cup in 2003

England must take their form from the end of the Six Nations into this summer's tour, says Mike Tindall.

The 31-year-old is one of the senior statesmen of Martin Johnson's 44-man party having won 61 international caps.

"The big focus for us now is to go to Australia and New Zealand and try and build on how we ended the Six Nations," Tindall told BBC Radio Gloucestershire.

"We've been going peak and trough, peak and tough from Six Nations to summer tour to autumn internationals."

England will only play two full Test matches on the tour, allowing the squad to play midweek games.

Tindall hopes that it can create some momentum for England in the build up to the 2011 World Cup.

"We really want to try and get a gradual upward climb pushing towards the World Cup next year," he said.

"It's a massive tour for us and we've got such a good strong squad, you don't play international rugby to lose and we've got to make sure we go out there, switch on and hopefully we can do a job."
