Wood has scored 6 tries in 126 appearances for Gloucester |
Prop Nick Wood has signed a new deal at Gloucester that will keep him at Kingsholm until 2013. The 27-year-old has spent his entire professional career at Kingsholm having joined the academy from Radley College. "I've been at Gloucester for my whole career and couldn't see myself anywhere else," Wood told the club's website. "We've been so close to major honours during my time here and I want to be part of a Gloucester side that takes that next step." After making his debut for Gloucester in September 2003, he represented England at Under 21 and Saxons level. He toured South Africa with the full England side in 2007, only missing out on a full cap because of injury. Wood was also part of the England 2009 summer squad for the matches against the Barbarians and Argentina. "I'm really pleased that Nick has committed to Gloucester Rugby," said head coach Bryan Redpath. "If you look at how many appearances he's made over the past few seasons then you'll understand what an integral part of our scrum he has been. "Quality props seem to get better as they get older so we're expecting big things from him."
