Voyce has scored 69 tries for Wasps, but only two of have come this season |
Gloucester have signed winger Tom Voyce on a three-year contract. The 28-year-old will move from Wasps to Kingsholm in July and is relishing the chance to win silverware and hopefully get back in international contention. "I see this as a chance to join a club on the brink of something special," he told Gloucester's official website. "I have huge ambitions to be successful with Gloucester and hopefully one day play for England again and this is a fabulous opportunity." Voyce won the first of his nine caps in 2001 while he was still at Bath. He moved to Wasps in 2003 and has won a host of trophies both domestically and in Europe in his six years at the Buckinghamshire outfit. | 606: DEBATE |
But he missed out on the Guinness Premiership success against Leicester last season after injuring his shoulder against Bath in the play-off semi-final, a setback which came shortly after his return from knee surgery. He made his comeback for the start of the 2008/09 season and has gone on to make 22 starts this term and has crossed for 69 tries in his time at the club. Gloucester head coach Dean Ryan said: "Tom is another huge signing for us for next season. His proven form and try-scoring capability will help to reinforce our attacking back line pushing us forward. "His presence within the side will help strengthen our position within the Guinness Premiership and Europe next season and his expertise and experience playing in knock-out stages will be key going forward."
