Gloucester fly-half Ryan Lamb says hard work on the training ground contributed to his impressive performance for England Saxons in Ottawa. Lamb, 22, scored 19 points in England's 64-10 win over USA as they began their defence of the Churchill Cup. He said: "I was pleased with the boot. My kicking is coming on. "I've been working hard with [kicking coach] Jon Callard and I was happy with my percentage but it came off the back of a great team effort." The game in Canada was Lamb's first competitive appearance since Gloucester's defeat against Leicester in the Premiership play-offs last month. "The game helped to get the disappointment of the Guinness Premiership Final out of my head," he explained. "We're in a different environment now with a different team and we've just got to concentrate on the next game and try to put together a team performance that will impress the powers above."
