Gloucester scrum-half Mike Prendergast has left the club to join Irish side Young Munster.

The 31-year-old moved to Kingsholm last summer to cover absences during the World Cup.

But his chances at Kingsholm have been limited by the form of international half-backs Rory Lawson (Scotland) and Gareth Cooper (Wales).

The emerging young Gloucester scrum-half Dan Lewis is being groomed as possible cover in the future.
